If I change the browser settings to go through WAPTunnels servers, is
there any way that Alltel can charge me?  I'm not currently subscribed
to use the Browser through Alltel, but I do not want to start using
WAPTunnel and get a surprise on my bill.
Thanks.

Not being an Alltel customer since back in the mostly-analog days (like
there's been much improvement in four years...) I can't say for sure
whether Alltel charges airtime for browser sessions. My assumption is that
YES they do, and for that reason you WOULD be charged AIRTIME, but I
highly doubt you would see any additional charges.

Verizon Wireless charges airtime only.

I have used WapTunnel with Sprint PCS's 2G handsets but was subscribed to
their Wireless Web service at the time, so I don't know if their standard
$0.39/minute charge for customers who don't have WW would have applied.

By the way, you might want to look into the "O2" portal instead. Do a
Google for "O2 WAP Gateway" and you should find the settings. I have been
using it for a couple months now and have found it a thousand times more
reliable than WapTunnel was back in its best days. You'll see settings for
"access number" or something like that. Disregard it. All you need is the
gateway IP and port number.

Alright, well I finally had some time and went and set up the O2
Gateway.  However, I set the homepage to their http://wap.o2.co.uk/
Now I want to change my homepage to mobile.msn.com.   I've changed the
homepage, but the browser continues to load the o2 page.  I'm using a
motorola v60, and I can not get the other page to load.  Any help?
Also,  I can't find a way to just enter any page address I want to
visit.  (If you can't tell, I'm totally new to this; so any help would
be greatly appreciated.)

Being that you're using an Alltel handset, I have no way to know what
procedure to use to accomplish what you're trying to do. On VZW handsets
there's a "browser setup" menu which allows you to change the homepage. If
you don't have that, I don't know what to tell you.

Anyone else?
