This is wierd, but I've had *REALLY* bad service in person from
Alltel. The day I went to sign up, the lady in the Virginia Beach
office was a total bitch. Another rep told me text messaging was
unlimited, it turned out to be unlimited receive only. Maybe they have
good CDMA coverage somewhere, other than that I don't know why anyone
would sign up with them. They nickel and dime every feature, so in the
long run the price is the same or higher than competitors.

I'm over 1 year so I can cancel... probably will do so after I get
back from Vegas. Really interested in the T-Mobile offerings,
especially the bluetooth data capabilities on their GSM sets.

I've heard Suncom is bad as well. I think it is pretty much a de-facto
issue with *ANY* cellular carrier. The whole contract issue saves
them. If we could get contracts outlawed, then I bet the customer
service would improve.

Guys I wish I just ignored that idiot from customer service. The service
from verizon is spotty when I am at home. I never had a problem with Alltel.
