Does anyone know if Alltel will activate a Kyocera 3035 that was used
on Verizon Wireless? I'm thinking of switching from VZW to Alltel,
and would like to get a new Kyo phone, but would like to bring my old
3035 along for use on a second line.
I've been told by Alltel reps (one was at an O&O store) that you can't
use a phone from another carrier, but I also hear numerous reports of
people having done so.
Thanks!

Don't know about a Kyocera 3035, but they've activated Verizon
StarTACs for me with no technical problems or sales person's bad
attitude. Just matter-of-factly did it.

Question: I want to buy a wireless phone from another company. Can I
activate it through ALLTEL?
Answer: Yes, it is possible to buy phones/equipment from other
retailers. However, you will want to be sure you are not signing up
for service with another carrier. You will need to specify that you
want to buy only the equipment. Please be aware the cost of the phone
may be higher if you are not signing up for service with their
provider. Additionally, you want to ensure you purchase a CDMA digital
cellular phone, not a PCS-CDMA, TDMA, or GSM handset if you want to
activate it through ALLTEL.

Thank you for the A-bomb. I'll print it out and take it with me next
time I go in to look around.
