Just tried to do a *228 PRL upgrade and, after about 4 voice prompts
telling me it was upgrading the phone it said it bombed, in so many words.

Called 611 and got the Tampa call center.  She couldn't get the system to
upgrade her PRL in Tampa, either.

Trouble ticket opened...they'll fix it...

I'm a former Verizon Wireless customer since Cellular One put up the first
towers on cellular in Charleston.  I had IMTS carphones before cellular.
Verizon would NEVER admit the server was down...(c;  It takes a little
getting used to "Honesty in Tech Support" on Alltel.  Verizon would have
wanted me to bring the phone to their place because my phone was broken.

Thanks, Alltel.

Something also made the signal go way up this morning.  Maybe we got a new
site or they moved the antennas around to get into the waterfront down our
little hill better after I told them the signal was marginal but useable
here.  My old Verizon V60i shows -77 dbm of signal on the test page now, an
increase of almost 10 db!

thats like a week ago, when I woke up, my phone said NO SIGNAL.

called ALLTEL, and reported both my phone and girlfriends phone was not
working. I tried to call her, and nothing

I was told that was "impossible"

after about 10 minutes of dialing numbers around ours..... finally they
admitted they had a problem

yeah, DUH!!! noon news said someone cut a cable, and knocked out ALL the
long distance, DSL, and cellphone service for all oproviders in 3 counties.

July 1 is coming........ wake up, ALLTEL

The rest aren't any different.  I came from Verizon.  It's worse.  Verizon
would never admit there was a network problem.  "Take your phone into our
service center as soon as possible.  YOUR PHONE is the problem."  My phone
was never the problem.

I still got lots more bars on the S-meter tonight.  Something here got
better...(c;
