I was thinking of switching to the Kyocera KX440, but I wanted some input on reception in the fringe areas. I have a LG 5450, but quite frankly the reception sucks, and it always goes into analog mode very quickly and drains the battery which is an extended battery. Thanks in advance for all help

The 440 is a good phone, but it's too subjective to say whether it
would be better than your LG in your particular area. If coverage in
your area is sparse, then just about any phone is going to jump to
AMPS (if it is AMPS capable) or boost to a higher power range in
digital mode, which will drain your battery faster.
