Is it possible to tether a laptop to the internet with the unlimited all
axcess pass?

I am not wanting to know if Alltel supports it, as it seems obvious that
they don't from looking at the web site.  I want to know if it will work
anyway.

thanks,

Depending on the model of your phone, you may be able to get a data kit
that will allow you to connect it via usb port.  The only bad part is
that the all axcess pass doesn't give you axcess mobile link which is
the high speed 1xcdma, and EvDo (even faster) in some markets.

It would allow you to connect using quick net connect (QNC) however
this is abou the speed of a 9600 baud modem (from personal experience),
and uses your plan minutes.

Hope this helps.

Yes this does help.  I currently use the edge network on cingular, and I am
familar with 9600 bps from when i use csd over gsm.

I would not be interested in QNC.  I want a fast unlimited data plan that I
can tether to my laptop.  Will the EvDo work in places where verizon already
has it (as in sharing all the same towers)?

When you use the all access pass on the phones browser, are you connected at
9600 and using minutes?
