It really won't affect me, anyways.  I'm almost at the end of my month
and haven't even used up 10% of my allotted minutes yet, and that's
with 3 LOS.  I'll set up a list, probably won't use more than 20-30
anytime minutes a month from here on out.  It's almost to the point of
absurdity.

Actually, I don't think VZW on whole sucks.  Just their selection of
phones sucks.  But, I never give a rat's a.s about the Bluetooth
issues or much of the other stuff people griped about over in
alt.cellular.verizon.  I just wanted my KX440/444.  The monthly price
savings with Alltel is a fair offset to me for the relatively small
increase in dropped calls I've experienced.  The reduction of the NE2
credit was a bit of a slap, though.  I won't be in any hurry to return
to VZW, if ever.

I was the last person I knew left on VZW, and everyone else I know is
happy with who they have.  Oh well, such is life...

Too few minutes for too much money.  Their pricing is unreal because they
are now forcing everyone to buy nationwide service most have no use for.
Most people never leave their town, much less their state.  As you live
close to the border of the regional plan, I suppose that might be an
issue if you go northwest, but not here.  There's no cells in the ocean..

I have 800 mins on Alltel for $39.  They have a mature system that
actually does work in the country from Wilmington to Savannah inland all
on cellular B.  VZW has Charleston, a bought-up, poorly covered area
south of Charleston county they got from South Carolina Cellular and a
terrible PCS 1900 Mhz system they bought in Myrtle Beach.  They have a
big gap between the Charleston A system and the Myrtle Beach PCS system
because of interference with the Myrtle Beach A carrier I'm not sure who
that is any more.  At least that's how it was when I was a customer.
Going to Georgetown on VZW was like driving into a black hole, even with
the bagphone!  I used to switch the bagphone to B and use Alltel's AMPS
back then which worked.

I'm intrigued by Suncom.  It doesn't work in the country because they're
a PCS reseller on ATT's 1900 Mhz system.  But, along the interstates in
NC/SC and in the major and minor cities, it's fine I'm told by many.
Suncom sells 1500 minutes for $39, much more than I use adding unlimited
N/W to daytime calls.  I'd never use it up.  I might even be able to drop
down a plan and never use it up.  They are very aggressively selling it
in Charleston.  Suncom also has a plan like these 10 numbers on Alltel,
probably the reason Alltel has them.  You can call any of these numbers,
all you want, on any cellular system or POTS and not be charged
airtime...ever.  It's aggressive and very interesting.  I got a PCS 2W
linear and a beam antenna for the country...(c;

I'm not very loyal to any brand.  I think that's absurd the customers
defend being screwed over on the VZW group.  Less service, more money
isn't the way to buy my loyalty.  Now that the companies have virtually
stopped building anything, except, of course, new office/sales floor
spaces for their own vanity, calls cost them near nothing on the existing
system.  There aren't going to be any more expansions unless FCC forces
them to perform over their licensed area, which it won't do with the
bribed lawyers running FCC, now.  What it is is what it's going to
be...more glitz, more non-telephone nonsense, poorer phones with smaller
and smaller transmitters doing shorter and shorter ranges, making the
dead zones bigger....and noone cares.
