Hello,
Was wondering if anyone could tell me what Cap3OriginatingSms means. It
shows up on my transaction list and Alltel charges 5 cents for each message
and how can you stop from getting these messages and charges.

Thanks

Cap3 means Competitive Access Provider....one of Alltel's competitors.

Searching Google for more information for you, something you should do
for yourself, I found an interesting webpage you might like to read about
SMS scams, including those run by cellphone companies:
http://www.explodedlibrary.info/2004/09/mobile_phones_a.html

I'd bet the only solution is to call Alltel and tell them to turn SMS
messaging OFF to your phone.  Unfortunately, trying to make it so you'll
leave this spammer turned on, that also turns off Voicemail notification
so your phone won't tell you when you have voicemail waiting, which might
be a lot more expensive if you're running a business than the SMS scam
costs you.

Alltel knows who these messages come from.  Try to badger them into
finding them for you.

Someone on another carrier is sending you SMS messages......

some of alltel phones can block certain addys from sending text messages,
you can go to alltels site and find it somewhere under text messaging...it
may even work for all phones on alltel, I know I used it awhile back to
block an ex boyfriend from sending texts to my daughter...I think this
method blocks messages or calls to the specific cell number....

To block:
B + xxx-xxx-xxxx (x meaning the number you wish to block texts from)

U + xxx-xxx-xxxx  unblocks the number

L  sends you a list of numbers you have blocked

Hope this proves helpful.
