There was a FAQ somewhere that explained this; Greater Freedom is
geography based (he said neighboring county in his home state) and
credit would likely be given. National Freedom is carrier based, and
if you are unlucky, it can be roaming. There was a hole in NC on I77
near VA where (past tense, it has been fixed) coverage was solid roam;
my son was on the way to Blacksburg with his GF plan, his buddy with
NF ... Buddy was charged for about 50 minutes of roaming. It is worth
asking; if there was a network problem, Alltel will PROBABLY be the
nice guys ... if he asks nicely.
>If it's verizon you likely won't get charges, but you could. Contrary
>to popular belief, the entire Verizon network is not an Alltel
>partner, though a very large portion of it is.
