I work in the industry, the "trades" are read regularly.
AT&T has not lost 800k customers last month.
Point it out - you dumb f.ck.

Maybe you should read a little more:

chnologyNews&locale=en_IN&storyID=4358464
Excerpt from that news article:
"In January, AT&T Wireless lost nearly 4 percent of its customers and
saw its operating income fall more than 20 percent from a year ago,
sources close to the situation have said."
Lets see: 0.04 # 22,000,000 = 880,000 (assumes ATTWS had 22 million
customers to begin with)
I know the article may be a little misleading in that it may not have
meant the total loss occurred in January, but one could read it that way.

I'm afraid I would believe it even if it were January only; AT&T was
mentioned frequently as the company most likely to lose customers once
number portability came about. They've always had a higher per
customer revenue than most of their competitors, and individuals who
spend more are typically less tolerant of poor service, but also most
attached to their phone number.
Personally, of the AT&T customers I know, every one of us who made the
switch to the GSM network (4 of the 8 us) is actively looking at
leaving. The ones who aren't are those who are still on TDMA.

Check out this article, it is only rumor. But there seems to be a lot of
disappionted ATT customers so there COULD be some truth to it. I am
one of those disappionted customers I ported from them in Jan.

AT&T Wireless lost 4 pct of customers in Jan-sources
Thursday February 12, 1:28 pm ET
LONDON, Feb 12 (Reuters) - AT&T Wireless Services Inc (NYSE:AWE - News),
the U.S. wireless provider which has put itself up for sale, lost nearly
4 percent of its customers in January and saw its operating income drop
more than 20 percent from a year ago, sources close to the situation
said on Thursday.
The No. 3 U.S. wireless provider, which has set a deadline of Friday for
takeover offers, also saw its average revenue per user, or ARPU, fall by
nearly 10 percent in January compared to a year ago, the sources said.
"We don't comment on rumour and speculation on our results. We report
our results once a quarter, like everyone else," said AT&T Wireless
spokesman David Caouette.

I have to go from what I see on Ebay and I see that ATT WS phones still command
very high prices- meanning either there are FEW for sale or demand is very
HIGH. Look at the models like the Nokia 3560 for both ATT and Cingular and you
will see that the ATT phones command premium prices- often $20 or more than the
same phone for Cingular.

I thought that sounded high. How many did they lose, if any?
