I notice that is not any type of news article, rather a press release from
the lawyer's own office.

If you check you'll find all too many "news articles" are in fact mostly
cut and paste jobs from Press Releases.

And where exactly would you expect news of the filing of a lawsuit to
come from?
The Courts don't issue press releases about filings.

All reputable news agencencies have people that do nothing but monitor
public records for law suits, arrests, bankruptcies, etc..  Anything that
would be of interest to their clientele.

All columnists get mass quantities of News releases daily. Often when
rusehd, a column or story will be nothing but a cut and paste of a press
release; and sometimes not even a current one.

There's nothing wrong with a Press Release as long as you take into
account the bias off whose Press Release it is.

i.e. If AT&T has a press release saying they now have Number Porting
under control, you know they're lying.

I agree there is nothing wrong with issuing a press release.  What I meant
to bring up was that this release was nothing more than one party expressing
their opinion on a subject, not the result of any type of journalist inquiry
to validate facts.
