Grandson gave me a Sanyo 8100 issued by Sprint.
My cellphone account is with ATT wireless.
Can I have this cell phone reprogrammed to enable use
with ATT?
My contract runs out soon but my service has been
excellent with ATT and I would prefer to keep it
rather than switch to Sprint.

Nope. The Sanyo is a 1900MHz CDMA.

AT&T mostly uses GSM now. Totally different technology.

You could sell it for ~ $100 on eBay if it is new,
and use that towards a smililarly functioned AT&T phone.

Sprint (CDMA) uses a different technology than AT&T Wireless
(TDMA/GSM), you couldn't program it to work with AWE any more than you
can program an AM radio to receive an FM signal.  Sorry.
