Excuse the dumb question, but why don't the ATT flip phones have an external
screen that gives caller id when the phone is closed?  Most of the other
carriers that have flips *do* have the external screen that allows you to
see who is calling giving you the option to answer or not.  In my search for
the most economical carrier for my needs this is a real liability in my
books.

Just curious.

Ummm, many of them do.

Which ones?  The candy bar style does, granted, but the flips don't seem to.
Check the LG, check the Samsung, etc.  The web site doesn't show it.  I'm
not interested in a candy bar style, I want a flip.

How about the NEC 525 or Motorola MPX200 or Motorola T721 or Motorola V60i
or Samsung V206?

Yup. I was referring to the NEC 525, Motorola V60i, and
Ericsson T68, which are the three I have -- all are flip
phones, all have external display for caller ID.

The Ericsson T68 is NOT a flip phone.  Well, unless you made it a customized
version or something ;)

We just got 17 new Samsung color flip phones from AT&T for our sales force.
I think the model is 426. So far we love them. The color screen is really
vibrant. We switched from Nextel.
