It's tedious to type in all my contacts and their numbers when I'm
getting a new phone. So I'm looking for phones that can grab its
numbers from Microsoft Outlook or other PC phonebooks. What are some
of the options out there for this? The phones don't have to be ATTWS
oriented.

Siemens S-46 (ATTWS GSM/TDMA) does this very nicely and they include the
software free in the box. You either have to use IR (which I haven't tried)
or get a serial data cable, which can be cheap on eBay. Synchs contact and
calendar info from Outlook. Only downside is that it isn't a current ATTWS
model and even if you buy a used one online, AT&T might not let you get a
multi-band account. Might want to check out the new Siemens phones and see
if the synch is as good.

Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools 2.20 lets you synch to Outlook and to
Outlook Express. There are lot's of software packages for other phones.
For a list take a look at www.susteen.com who offers Data Pilot and
cables for lot's of phones (although they don't yet support the v600).

Several of the Nokia phones do it. I have a Nokia 6200 and I sync to
outlook via IR and it works just fine.

I have a Nokia 6800 and I do it weekly. It works great. I sync up my
notes, task, calendar and contacts with Outlook XP.

I sync my SX-56 all the time. Just set it into it's cradle and Active Sync
fires off.
