Should I Pay $105 for the T616 or $25 for the Samsung X426?

I have been offered one of those 2 deals.  I like flip phones but it's
kinda a toss up.  The X426 has no features except color screen.

if it had an external caller ID display it would be a bit better.

The T616 is supposedly an all around great phone with great features
and toys like Bluetooth.  Supposedly good RF.

Anyways what would you?  $80 doesn't seem like like that much for what
you get right?

The T616 shows on the Cingular website to be $74.99 after rebate, likely
even cheaper at BestBuy.

If you sign up for AT&T, in a few mnonths you'll be Cingular anyway.
Beat the rush.

My wife and I got the T616s for Christmas gifts for each other. My
choice of the phones, 'cause I'm a guy and guys dig feature-laden
toys. After a few months, wish I had gone with a flip phone instead. I
drop the phone in my pants pocket and buttons are getting pushed. I've
called people by accident a time or two. If I could do it over, I'd
get a plain vanilla flip phone rather than a feature-rich phone that
goes off accidently.

Not having an external caller ID would be a big minus on the X426, but
if it were me I'd try to find a flip fone with that feature.

BTW, I got the phones for free and I regret not geting a flip fone.

The T616 does not have a button lock feature?

Yeah it does, but I'd still rather have a flip phone.

This is just a case of buyer's remorse on my part. There is nothing
really wrong with the phone, just the new has worn off of it.

Moral - next phone, Buy a case for it, rather than tossing in pocket.

If I could find a case for the phone that would not muffle the ringer
to point where I cannot hear it or keep the vibrations from being
felt, I would use it.

Check:

eBay
Vendors in aisles of Malls

actually cases designed for other phones or other things might also
be useful, i.e. cigarette case.

If it's only the keylock feature, I'd say you have little complains
with the T616.  I also am pissed that the time I was about to get the
AT&T T616, they all had old versions of the firmware.  Why is AT&T
offereing old phones for new prices??

To Robert:  I am not signing a new contract, so I don't think I could
get these discounted prices.  the $105 is a good price (I think) for
an existing customer.  I don't want to switch to Cingular because I
think the AT&T plans are better now.

Triple check they're not putting you under a new or extended contract.
