I have a Panasonic Allure phone, and my plan is AT&T wireless....I want
to get a new phone, I was hoping to get a cheap one online, and just
switch the phone....Is there a way to switch a SIM card, i think its
called, or something like that....All i want is a new phone, anyone have
insight into seeing if i can switch the phones?

Very unlikely the Panasonic Allure has a SIM card since it is a TDMA network
phone. So presumably you're on a TDMA ATTWS plan. Online, eBay for instance,
you can get any TDMA phone enabled for ATTWS and just switch the ESN to your
account. It only takes a phone call to ATTWS.

GSM phones do not have an ESN they have an IMEI. It's basically the
same thing though strictly speaking ESNs are for phones that have to
be programmed such as TDMA, CDMA and some earlier iDen phones.

If you have a Panasonic Allure, you are on a TDMA account. TDMA phones do
not have SIM cards - only GSM phones do. If you are on AT&T, you can buy
another TDMA AT&T phone off of Ebay or somewhere, and have it activated on
your account. You should be able to do that over the phone.

If it's a GSM phone all you need to do is put the SIM in another AT&T
phone or an unlocked phone and you're in business. If it's not an
AT&T GSM phone you must have the handset unlocked!
