I have a Nokia 6560 that displays "HOME" on the main display,  not ATT
WIRELESS.  On my other phones the display changed to ATT shortly after I
initially turned them on when new.  This one has not changed,  it's been
over a month.  ATT CS says it should change eventually but am having my
doubts.  Any ideas ?

Why do you care? As long sa it says Home, you are in AT&T's territory in your
home market.

Well, in my experience, seeing "home" on an AT&T phone generally means
either the IRDB isn't updated, or it's programmed with a non-AT&T SID
as it's home SID.

This might just be a quirk of the 6560, however.  My experience with
AT&T is limited to Nokia 51xx, 61xx and 82xx phones from my TDMA
"leftovers" collection.  ;-)

Not a new issue.  Check ATTWS's user forums.  Same problem with my S46.
They spent a week trying to get it right -- "programming" on both ends --
and got nowhere.  However, I only get "HOME" in TDMA mode.  GSM says, "AT&T
Wireless."

Thanks for all the feedback,  guess I'll just live with it.

Go into an actual ATT Wireless corporate store and ask them to resend the
Over The Air signal to change the Alpha Tag.  They should do it without any
issues usually takes less than 5 mins for it to change over.

Thanks,  I'll give it a shot.

Most likely he cares because it's HIS phone and not yours.  Some people do not
understand or know why their phone displays Home and not At&t or Att Wireless.
Just because you think you know it all doesn't mean that all subscribers have
an understanding of particular plans, Roaming and other important features.
You get a lot more respect when you are not such a wisehead.  Although it
doesn't surprise me because most of your posts are of the same nature.
Have a great day Ninny!
