On vacation.  Automated payment doesn't go through.  I'm 30 days late.  My
number is disconnected.  After 3 years as a loyal, paying customer.  Wow!
Don't think I'll be renewing this one.

Disconnect first, ask later. They got your attention didn't they?

That must be new.  I've been over 30 days late and actually owed them
for two months of service, and the worst they've done is send out a
letter or call.

Attws does not shut u off for 30 days late,

You don't pay your bill, they shut u off. My word what is the world coming
to! Try missing 2 or 3 months of payments for some other things in your
life, see what happens.

Oh, but its fun to be behind in all my payments! otherwise no one calls me!
;-)

Just try Sprint, I have been told that if you run out of minutes, mid month,
mid phone call, it shuts you down. can anyone confirm this?

Not likely. SprintPCS prepaid is all done by Virgin.

Regular SPRINT PCS accounts are not just shut down.

Virgin is Pre-paid.

I am in a sprint plan, recieved a text message the other day and was
informed that i needed to pay, after calling them they informed me tht
if you are in a plan and you exceed, in my case,125.00 you need to pay
the bill or you will be shut down at the 125 mark. i was at 113.00 and
bills had not reached them yet. They don't want people, even in a plan
to get behind on payments.

I have had Sprint PCS since they started business in the DFW area. I have had
bills in the days of roaming on analog where it cost as high as $5000 (yes,
that's THOUSAND) and never been shut off when reaching any artificial limit.
Typically sometimes during the 3rd month I would receive a call (I travel a LOT
and sometimes the bills take several months to catch up to me) asking me about
payment. Payment via electronic check always leaves the service running.

John, I knew you were crazy before this post, but man--$5000?! Are you out
of your mind?! Anybody paying that kind of money in roaming charges would be
stupid to not just open an account at the local carrier and carry two
phones. Even if you were eating minutes on both plans for forwarding your
inbound calls, it would still be a major savings. Sheesh.

Yeah, but beng crazy keeps me from going insane!

As for the $5000, it was all re-imbersable expenses for a consulting job I was
doing.
My point was more to the point that the newer plans with no roaming are in line
with what people need. AT&T was a leader and others have followed to some
extent. ALTHOUGH, the DOR Plan is still the best for those of us who travel to
all the out of the way places in the country.

Depends on your credit rating. I bought an expensive phone, and it was
added to my next months bill, which was then in the hundreds, and never
a peep from SprintPCS.

Is that so Phillip?!  You have been claiming over in the Sprint PCS
forum that your phones were free!  Liar.

Well a couple of years ago I was on a $35 month plan and had to leave
town on a family medical emergency. I ran up a bill ot over $250 in
roaming charges with no problem (except to my wallet). This was with
Verizon.
