I called LOCAL numbwe onesuite (calling card) to make calls to Canada.
After connected to onesuite, I enter the Toronto number.
I just got my ATT bill. I was charged for all these calls.
Did others use onesuite and get charged for this?

Cell phones use airtime any time you make a call, so even 1800 numbers are
not "free" in the sense that they do use minutes.

Do you mean to imply AT&T charged you more than just airtime to call a 1800
number?

Anyway, airtime charges are normal. If on the other hand you're getting hit
with long distance charges that would seem incorrect.

i.e. if you are in your home area, and not roaming, and you call a 1800
number you should only get hit with airtime charges.

No, they charged me international long distance.
I called customer service and they reversed $9.00 charges. They said
when I entered the international  number and press end, it will be
charged as international calls.
This is useful to know.

Are you sure you didn't hit "send" after entering the international
number?  CallPlus, an AT&T pre-paid reseller offers free international
calls (via an 800#) with their wireless service, but they caution you
not to hit "send" after entering the int'l number or AT&T's system
will misinterpret it as a direct-dialled int'l call.

If it's a number you call often, take advantage of OneSuite's
"phonebook"- you register your cellphone # online, assign your most
frequently dialed int'l #'s two-digit codes, and when calling the
local OneSuite number from your cellphone you enter the two-digit
"shortcut" instead of the full int'l number at the prompt.  I suspect
even AT&T couldn't try and charge you international rates for dialling
"11"!  ;-)

I use this calling card to call all my friends around the world.  This card
has the best 1c rate to many countries.  The rates to non-1c countries are
not the best but otherwise it's a good calling card.

Not pressing the end key, I was not charged.  I call Wetern Europe all the
time and have never had a problem.

When you enter a telephone number after calling a calling card
access number, do not hit the Send button.  You will be, in fact,
making a conference call in that case.  Follow the instructions
given by the calling card announcer.  The same thing would happen if
you called any telephone number and then hit Send after entering
digits while on the first call.  Some calling card services require
you to hit "#" or "*" to indicate that you have completed the number
you want to reach.  Never hit Send.

Thank you all. I must have goofed up and hit send. I am lucky that
customer service was very considerate in this case... :)
