Nokia 8265: External Antenna Jack is Disabled?

I'm trying to connect an external antenna to the jack on the 8265.
However, I'm not getting any signal out of that jack. I called Nokia
and the tech I spoke with mentioned that he *thought* the jack was not
actually enabled.

Can someone confirm this? If so, I'm assuming there is no simple way
to enable it.

i always bought an aftermarket antenna to mount in the roof of my van. never
was told anything like that. did you ever get any satisfaction from your
question?
