Hello.

Am looking to purchase a pre-paid (pay-as-you-go) plan for a cousin in Des
Moines, Iowa. He has a Nokia 3100 handset (900/1800/1900 MHz - he brought
the handset from Kenya).

Only T-Mobile and ATTWS have coverage there, so would appreciate any
info/suggestions on the networks' reliability etc. I know that if he gets
pre-paid T-Mobile, he won't have roaming access (unlike customers having
contracts).

The guy's main use is for SMS and occasional phone calls.

TIA

T-Mobile's coverage in the greater Des Moines area is very complete
and reliable in my experience; I have no reservations in recommending
it.

Some other areas of Iowa are reliably covered by IWS with partnering
by T-mobile. Look at the T-Mobile coverage map. These areas are
clearly delineated. I am sending this message on IWS GPRS through a
T-Mobile contract outside Pella Iowa.

I do not know about ATTWS.
