As part of the rebranding of Cingular to "Wireless from AT&T", the preferred email-to-SMS-message gateway address (even for Cingular customers) is now NUMBER@txt.att.net, or YOURID@txt.att.net if you're set up a personalized address in the Message Center <http://www.wireless.att.com/learn//messaging-internet/>.
