iPhone 101: Two-fingered Scrolling

Posted Dec 13th 2007 5:00PM by Erica Sadun

Everyone knows that you can use a single finger to scroll web pages in
Mobile Safari but it's less well known that you can use two fingers to
scroll frames and other subpage elements. Normally, on personal
computers, you use a separate scroll bar for webpage frames. On the
iPhone and iPod touch, these scroll bars do not appear and the content
expands to fill the frame set area. By using two fingers at once, you
tell Mobile Safari to scroll the element rather than then entire page.
I find this especially useful when filling out forms with scrolling
selections such as when I do blog posts and need to add categories.

You can scroll with two fingers in any area of the interface already;
however, Mobile Safari switches when you reach a subpage element.

This is somethiing you can't do with any of those other phones with
touch screens . Do you think this could be another reason the iPhone
is so much fun?

Dockers?  Not me, Skippy.  You're the one talking about stuffing a phone
into your pants pocket, not me.

Sorry.  For me, the coat pocket, shirt pocket, pants pocket..... no need
for a holster.  And why are you so obsessed with how I carry my phone?

Maybe because you're obsessed about my jeans?

Point is that Voyager is huge.
It would be most certainly be the bulge in men's pants that women DON'T
find attractive.

And what is? The wallet, of course.

With the iphone costing 100-200 more, you won't have the above wallet.
TCOO down the road, Battery replacement's, I can see that wallet is now thin
as paper.

Specs for apple iphone.
Size and weight
 a.. Height: 4.5 inches (115 mm)
 b.. Width: 2.4 inches (61 mm)
 c.. Depth: 0.46 inch (11.6 mm)
 d.. Weight: 4.8 ounces (135 grams)
Specs for the Voyager

a.. Dimensions: 4.64" (H) x 2.12" (W) x 0.71" (D)
a.. Weight: 4.69 oz.

Over all, I would say there close.

You never know...some girls are geek groupies that are turned on by the
smell of freshly unspooled CAT5 cable, the quiet sound of a Type 101
impact tool, telescoping push poles, the feel of cable pulling
lubricant, the many uses of Velcro. I could go on, but my boyfriend is
giving me a funny look.

Pleased as punch to see a lady in this testosterone-charged group.

My wife thinks I'm a nerd, but she hasn't been around the real ones to
know them.
