hi all,

well, friday i called nokia (866-59nokia) to find out their price on 3
phones. they asked me for my zip, asked if i was with AT&T, and gave me the
prices:
8265: $239.00 - $50 rebate when i send in my old phone = $189.00
3560: $199.00 - $50 (see above) = $149.00
6360: $239.00 - $50 (see above) = $189.00

then called AT&T (800-888-7600) to see what deals they had. what a surprise.
8265: $119.99 - $50 mail in rebate = $69.99
3560: $145.00 - $50 mail in rebate = $95.00
6360: $172.00 - $50 instant rebate = $119.00

i ordered my 8265 with AT&T, but i had planned to look up amazon.com for
their prices. i just figured they wouldn't have been able to beat AT&T's.

should be in monday or tuesday. looking forward to gaining some pocket space
from my current 5160 :)

thanks,
parker

Interesting that the 8265 is cheapest. When I called several weeks ago the 3560
was $50, 8265 was $70 and the 6360 was $80.  These are foundation plan upgrade
prices, no rebate. I took the 3560.

But there is a $50 rebate on the 3560. Go to www.nokiapromos.com and print
the PDF.

When I called the Business Office number to order it as an upgrade I was told
there was no rebate - it was figured in the discounted price of the phone.
According to the rebate form it's for a phone activated on a new line of
service. Since I got it direct thru the ATT Business number, I don't even have a
receipt to send in.

I don't see where it says "new line of service" anywhere on the rebate form
I printed. Also your receipt was in the box with the phone when you got it.

Ah, but it does talk about a $36 activation fee which I was not charged. My
contract was extended for a year, tho.

And when you actually read the PDF form, you will then see that the
Nokia $50 rebate only applies to phones purchased directly from Nokia,
not those from AT&T.

If you were happy with your 5160, then i suspect you will be equally
happy, if not happier with the 8265.  For just plain voice and sms, you
can't beat the 8265's combination of size and usability.
