Improve iPhone 3G Battery life considerably by getting new firmware.
The new iPhone 3G 16GB battery drained very fast with very low usage.
Unbelievably pathetic. Everybody online suggests to disable 3G, Wi-Fi,
Sync and what not.
The problem can be fixed without disabling any features.
Many (or all) iPhone 3G came with iPhone firmware 2.0 (5A345) which is
WRONG. It is a prelease firmware BETA version.
Once you force a Restore with iTunes as you will be on firmware ver
2.0 (5A347) which fixes all these problems. Don't ask iTunes to look
for a new version! Just retore it and iTunes will go out and download
the correct firmware thoght it will insist you have it.
That part of iunes is apparently broken at this time do to some
software error.
The very latest iPhones are now being released with the new firmware
installed - see Howardforums.com

Wow. Even Microsoft does extensive beta testing before releasing an update
to an OS or other software, and their stuff STILL has bugs. How is it that
Apple couldn't be bothered to make sure their iPhones shipped with 2.0?
Please try to spin this. It'll be fun watching you make excuses for a
blatant and inexcusable lack of QA.

What about the original iPhones? The apps have caused me to charge nightly,
whereas I could go for 3 - 4 days between charges beforehand.
