All the numbers and all the buzzword bingo meant nothing when this
happened:

"Ben Reitzes - Lehman Brothers

Okay, thanks. And then my last thing is just I would like to ask it as
respectfully as possible; a New York newspaper today obviously called
into question some issues around Steve and obviously his health, and we
get a lot of questions about it and I’m really sorry to ask, because
it’s a very private matter, but would you mind addressing the situation
and just making it so we can have your official statement? And I
apologize in advance for having to ask the question.

Peter Oppenheimer

Ben, Steve loves Apple. He serves as the CEO at the pleasure of Apple's
board and has no plans to leave Apple. Steve’s health is a private
matter.

Nancy Paxton

Thanks, Ben. Could we have the next question, please?

Operator

From Pacific Crest Securities, we’ll hear from Andy Hargreaves."

He refused to answer the question from Ben Reitzes - Lehman Brothers,
one of the biggest stock firms on the planet.  The way Reitzes put it,
smells of a setup to get it bypassed.  If anything made the stock crash
after closing today....it was STEVE JOBS' HEALTH....which they refused
to even discuss.  They're hiding something about Steve, and Steve IS
Apple, whether they like it or not.

All the great numbers and amazing 50% growth during this depression
meant nothing when he sidestepped the question everyone registered to
talk wanted to know about.

We all lost money on that vague admission....what he could NOT say, that
Steve is in grand health.

damn....

Prepare yourself for a lot more notable people of Jobs generation to
take ill and die. Check out the story which begins  on page 150 of
August 2008 Reader's Digest for additional insight as to why this will
probably happen.
Didn't a key member of Bush's team just die of throat cancer?

The real reason Apple is tanking is I was planing to buy a Mac and run
windows in a virtual machine using Parallels but I just discovered
that I can run multiple copies  of Linux or any other i386 OS
simultaneously in Vista home premium. I can jump back and forth
between OS windows with just a keystroke.

No Pain | copy and paste

I can copy and paste between between Linux and Vista as I would any
other windows program window.
Linux has come all long way since I last looked at it! Right now I
have the latest Ubuntu 8.04,  Kubuntu, and Fedora 9 and all three were
a snap to install!  My favorite is Kubuntu because of the neat easy to
use K graphical interface. What I really love is Linux can not screw
up my computer. If any Linux proves to be a disaster I can delete all
traces of it and recover my hard disk space.

I love it!

Do you have any other recommendations Larry?

Who needs an Apple Mac?

Excellent story on Apple stock price drop here:

Any one who wants a fast reliable system that JUST WORKS,
and isnt bogged down out of the box by CrapWare or outdated drivers.

This article about Wachovia bank is FAR more important....

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/22/business/22wach.php

The bank lied and said they lost $2.8B.  Now we see $8.1B...not some kind
of small pocket change.  I took my money out of it last week.  Money is
safer in a Mason jar buried in the garden than stored in any American banks
right now.  The garden also pays nearly as much interest rate...

Arrogant pricks.  We should drag bankers out of their mansions and hang
them on their electric front gates for the lawyers to see....Federal
Reserve FIRST IN LINE.

The N8x0 Linux tablets are doing this with Google's new Android.  Android
runs FROM Maemo Linux on them, just like an app, and switching between them
doesn't destroy the copy paste function, either.

I didn't know that about Vista.  I dual boot Debian Linux and WinXP on this
box, but I have a dedicated Debian box that was the old Win98 box from HP.
It's a great little Linux computer, of course, because the OS isn't so much
bloatware like OSX and WinXP or Vista.
