In the wake of the bad publicity after rejecting PodCaster, Apple now puts
their rejection notices for applications under NDA, meaning that they will
sue any developer who discloses that their application was rejected.

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to eat for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.

So now the press releases will read like this:

"Bob's Software announces the development of the Universal Phlegm
Calculator for the Apple iPhone.  When reached for comment, Bob was unable
to provide any further details due to a NDA."

This first time Apple sues for something like that, the FTC will eat them
for lunch for unfair and uncompetitive business practices.

Of course,I believe Apple will have a hard time defending this action in
civil court.  They can prove no damages from the disclosure of this
information except for the bad press created by a decision made by the
company itself and due to no action of the developer.

This smells so much like the Apple of the 80's.  They start gaining
traction in a very profitable market and start pissing away market share
due to their own arrogance and desire to control the consumer.  Between the
needs to totally control the hardware and software, they have traveled back
in time to when they gave the computer market to the IBM clones.

Google is going to eat Apple for lunch.

Yup.  I remember those times quite well.

Apple's arrogance was surpassed only by Steve Jobs' arrognce at NeXT.  I
remember nearly 20 years ago when Steve Jobs said that he would never do
open source because software vendors would not create software for an open
source platform.  [I also remember the shitty vegan lunch that we had to
eat because SJ couldn't stand to be in the same room with any meat
products.]

Just as Microsoft did with Windows 95.

It will be enjoyable to watch.
