I saw this on fark.com today and found it to be quite amusing...

Yes, I know AT&T and ATTWS are separate companies. .

The main emphesis on this article is to show people the issue that
carriers have. If you don't let a tower go up around you somewhere, you
will NOT get good service. It is that simple. I hated hearing people
complain to me about service in areas where towers had been "banned".
"Take it up with your city, they banned celltowers around there" is what
I always told them and yet, still no change has occured.

Same experience here. If I turn my phone on while on the first floor, I am
in an "extended area", most likely Cingular. No signal in the basement.
Comes up as AT&T if turned on while on the second floor, one or two bars.
If I go out in the middle of my street ( residential neighborhood), I get 4
to 5 bars (5 = max). Fortunately, I don't have to use my cell phone at
home.

Go to the web site of the FCC. They have online complaint forms that make it
easy to register a complaint.

Look in the front of your phone book. You could also be resourceful
and use a search engine.
