I have 2 questions for this group.
First, if anyone in this group is in the Watsonville, CA area, I'd
love to know how well ATT covers the northern foothills, in particular
at the upper end of Green Valley Road. I've found that most cellular
companies have wildly optimistic cell phone coverage maps and that
it's unwise to rely on the maps for determining actual coverage off
the beaten path. I'm also interested in learning more about the
coverage for the Santa Cruz area in general, and over Hwys 17 and 152.
Second, I'm looking at getting a Handspring Treo 600. Does anyone
know if this model works on ATT? If not, what pda/cell phone models
do work on ATT, and if you have one how happy are you with it?
Thanks!

I can tell you that my service works from the time I enter Watsonville
on hwy 129 going west to hwy 1 to GreenValley Rd. North of there on
hwy. 1 it fades a bit until I approach Capitola at 41st Street. So so
coverage in that area.
I go over hwy. 152 from I 5. From about 2 or 3 miles west of the dam,
to about 3 or 4 miles past Casa De Fruta, its no service. Im in a
truck so I cant continue on 152 to Watsonville. so I couldnt tell you
anything between hwy 101 and hwy 1 on hwy 152.

Thanks!
I was loaned an older (~2 years old) ATT cell phone and took it with
me to Watsonville this week. I had signal all the way out Green
Valley Road with this phone, even up the canyon to the barn. So far,
ATT is the leader. Now I need to see if I can get a Treo 600 on an
ATT plan and if the Treo uses the same signal as the phone I borrowed.
How many different signal modes does ATT have?
