yes! but you will have to call to get it removed.

Nope...and they won't "Prorate" the amount for the first month either. All
the 30 day free trail gets you is out of the contract, and the price of the
handset ,if you return it with EVERYTHING I.E.= every little baggy and twist
tie. Maybe this is so they can sell it again. At least you do get a full 30
days to realize what a piss-poor provider (in Southern Calif) they are and
CAN get out of the contract.
One word of advice, ATTWS will promise you the world, promise to upgrade
everything in your area, usually in 2 weeks. They will do their best to get
you to keep that phone for 30 days. DO NOT accept ANY verbal crap from
them!!! When the sh.t hits the fan ATTWS always tells you to read the fine
print on your agreement, all verbal crap then goes out the window and they
pretend they never told you a new cellsite will be installed in your
neighborhood in 2 weeks.
Use that phone like crazy for the 30 days, use the sh.t out of it. Your
paying for the first month anyways and don't want to have that ATTWS hook in
the side of your mouth if you dont need it....Eddie (Dumped ATT a long time
ago)

I've never been charged the activation fees when canceling within 30 days.

3 times with GSM now and I just canceled one with TDMA because they keep
sending me a "regular" v60 instead of one with a color screen that they
advertise on the web site.

You are mistaken. The full $36 is creideted if you cancel within 30 days.
