In my case it's simple. I was never advised that I could put my rate
plan on suspension whilst going on vacation. Consequently I chose to
back my rate plan to the $19.99 and lose the promotion. I was not made
aware of that at the time I made this change.
So, previously I was on the $29.99 rate plan.
I was willing to compensate AT&T WS for the $10 per month that I
wasn't paying per month
in order to keep the promotion. They aren't interested.
They don't accept that they should have advised me better before I
went on vacation and
they are not willing to make any concessions whatsoever to keep the
customer. I simply don't
understand this.. They have told me that I should go to another
service provider by telling
me that if I want to keep my promotion I must extend my contract.
Any company that cared about it's customers would simply own up to the
bad advice they gave and make amends by allowing the customer to
retain their promotion if the customer was willing to
change to a rate plan that qualifies for the promotion. But AT&TWS
basically wants to take advantage of this situation by locking me in
for another year by requiring that I extend my contract in order to
keep the promotion.
That my friends is a company in a tail spin.
AT&T WS back in the days of Digital PCS use to have the concept of a
retention offer whereby they'd make consessions to keep the customer.
But today such offers don't exist.
