Optus have changed the SFoA recently, couldn't find any mention of it in
here, thought it might interest people here (although if they haven't
received it yet they'll see it anyway in their next bill).

Basically the main changes are

* Contract customers can't suspend plans
* Out of contract customers can suspend plans at $5.50/month for max 3
months
* $8 porting fee
* Can't "backdate" new plan call rates to the current billing cycle (have to
wait until next).

'cos I'm slack and can't be bothered looking it up - and because others may also
be interested - in, out, or both ways?

Fine. You end up with a debt, and depending on the size of it, you will be
- referred to mercantile agent
- Baycorp credit file listed
- refused credit again

Your choice
my_nokia_6600@hotmail.com - 25 Feb 2004 21:17 GMT
no i will (when the time comes to port out) ring up and argue, they will
credit my bill and i may port back one day; but i am not going to pay $8 to
port in or out (ever).

You don't sound old enough to be of age to be on a plan anyway.

Perhaps he just has the maturity level of Rod.

Then you are left with an $8 debt in your name assuming you pay the rest

That amount would get written off. Isn't amounts of over $20 that get
listed?

Depends on the company.

Nope. Pretty sure that this has been the subject of a TIO thingy and
that there's a code by which the (telco) industry has to operate by.
$20 seems to stick in my head as being the absolute minimum for which
a listing can occur. Don't have the time to research the detail.

Yep.

Nope, the TIO gets no say on that.

Drivel on that particular question.

You're wrong. As always.

Yeah, you get so little for peddling that AIDS ravaged
arse that you dont have time for anything else.

BTW I was commenting on the write off, not the default listing

Well Baycorp Advantage don't list anything under $20 , so you can rightly
or wrongly assume that $20 would be the minimum everywhere.

Only amounts over $20 are (normally) returned in a credit enquiry. This can
be a cumulative value of multiple debts of less than $20 though so the
providers are free to register debts of less than $20.
