I bought one of these CDMA phones yesterday at a Telstra Shop, and
have some problems with the supplied PCLink software.
If anyone here can help, or point me to place where I might be able to
get help, I would be most grateful.
The problem is that I cannot get the PCLink 1.0 software to
communicate with the phone. When I fire up PCLink it asks me if I have
connected the phone to a COM port.
The phone itself responds with the message of "USB connected". Also
the modem driver seems to be working, as when I query the Samsung
modem driver, it responds.
The PCLink software seems very slow to respond to any input,
especially in the config menu. I cannot change any configuration
setting in this menu.
I tried the software on a similar PC to mine, running XP, and the
result was the same, so I don't think it's the PC.
Telstra put me on to Samsung technical support, who, after a 30 min
wait told me via a voice recorded message, that they couldn't take my
call, but if I wished I could leave a message and they would call me
back. (Yeah.. right!).
I was then informed that the technical support mailbox was full, and
that I couldn't leave a message even if I wanted to.
This model doesn't appear to be listed on Samsung's website.
Anyone have any helpful suggestions?
TIA

I have an SCH-A561 with that PC-Link software. I had the same problem. For
USB, I had to set it to a ComPort which does not exist for it to work (eg:
Com 4).
Best of luck.
