Ok, I decided to take my ngage for a test run on Optus Zoo TV ...

watched SBS News tonight for 30 mins straight....total GPRS download
6.2Mbytes......jerky.....paused about a dozen times for 2-3
seconds.......but overal its ok...

I wouldnt pay more than 10 bucks a month for at least 3
channels....unlimited....no cap ...(anyone notice the 2mb cap on the $9.90
offer....pathetic really...after 2mb you have to pay? i watched 30 minutes
and already Im 4Mb over...

Zoo Tv is doomed if they decide to charge by the megabyte...

cheers ;)

i thought Id add this since ive posted it on a couple of forums...

Hey folks,

Just wanted to inform all the aussie users out there with an Optus Postpaid
or prepaid account....

I have successfully connected to Optus Zoo and have streamed LIVE TV from
the ABC, SBS and CNNi thru the Ngage browser, RealOne Player and a GPRS
connection...and for this month its all FREE!

I suggest if you have an Optus account to go to http://www.info2you.com.au/

and register.

Then go to phone setup and get the website to send you the settings via SMS.

Once thats completed, press and hold '0' on your phone and it will connect
you to optus zoo...

after that go down to entertain me...click on tv....live tv and select the
station...

analysis of video streaming....jerky at best...very low resolution....pauses
every 5 minutes or so for a few seconds to re-establish connection...but
bearable if its for free or at a very cheap rate...

bandwidth used... ok for 30 minutes of streaming a station will consume
6.2Mbytes...scary at the prices they r thinking of charging but for this
month its free anyway!

cheers

Well they have fixed it early was meant to be back around the 12/3 but
working today on my phones as well.

They seemed to have redueced the video quality, but it's faster and less
jerky now
