Just checking the redsim page and saw down the bottom of the fine print that
the recharges made after 2/4/04 are subject to a 60 day expiry period.

Nope, you can choose the 365 day expiry option if you want.

The other recharge options that were subject to the 30 day expiry are
now subject to 60 days. I have a vodafone account on the 40+ plan and
considering the prepaid option now. Anyone using redsim out there make
any comments ?

Yes, that option has always made redSIM
work like NoPlans Prepay plus optional
30-day plans.
But now they say this will be
Available for selection until 1 September 2004.
'365 day' option may be subsequently modified,
supplemented or withdrawn.
I don't recall that being there before.
Maybe they will keep extending it like
Optus Yes Time.

Yep, except that it doesn't have the 'Use more, get more' feature.

I think it's probably likely they'll keep it - Vodafone went through a whole
reversal process after withdrawing the 12-month expiry period option a few
years ago. Maybe they'll just exclude it from some of the 'bonus'
free/capped offers available on the higher-value options.
