Siemens MC60 prepaid from KMart. Is it locked?

Hi. The paperwork that came with this phone when I bought it
claims it is locked to the Optus network.

I put in my Virgin sim and made calls/sent text without any
problems. So what do they mean by locked?

Sounds like its only a Network lock rather than a SIM lock.
Virgin use the Optus network IIRC... so a Virgin SIM will usually work in an
Optus Network locked handset.

The slut uses the Optarse network.

Wont work with a Telstra or Vodafone sim.

Virgin is on the Optus network, so a Virgin SIM will work
