Those of you who follow my rambling mutterings will be aware of my
failed Nokia CDMA phone and how I'm currently stuck with an older LG PoS.

I was speaking to my sister a little while ago. She can get me a really
cheap Nokia 6310i. I'm wondering what I'll be up for cost-wise if I got
this phone and then requested my existing account to be changed over to
GSM. The plan I'm currently on was zero dollars for the 6385 and $40 a
month for the next 2 years.

Oh, and it's been a day and a half now since the Telstra shop organised
to reconnect my old LG CDMA back onto my account. Looks like I'll have
to do some reaming tommorrow (day off) at the shop.

Refer my email.

There is very little the T Shop can do but to call Customer
Service/Activations. Why not call Customer Service yourself, 24x7?

I posted a note about that this morning, after reading your comments
about "more offline". Yahoo has an anti-spam service. Your email may
have been caught up in that.

Found it. For some reason the filters sent it to the Trash.

I'll call them direct and see what's happening.

Thanks for the offer. If there's a problem I'll email you back.

Yesterday, was able to get to the Telstra shop. He rang Telstra and
within minutes the phone was connected. All he did was to give them the
ESN number of the LG and to disconnect the Nokia.

Also, before I went down I rang the shop to see if it could be done over
the phone. The bird who answered said no, that they'd have to sight my
licence for ID. When I got there, the fellow didn't even ask for it.....

Anyway, I've now got the LG going, once more. Am still on the lookout
for another 6385, but I'm f.cked if I'm gonna pay $700 for a used one,
like some people have been on Ebay...

Interesting. I dont see why, given that you have the service password

So clearly the ESN change was never actioned

Yeah, I have to wonder why, too. It was done over the phone. The sales
droid said wait an hour. The second fellow, when I went back in on
Friday got it done while I waited.

Probably an untrained operator who jotted it down on his page and forgot.
No excuse

Inadequate training for Indians based in AU. Or perhaps, adequate training
but inadequate brain cells. Memory overflow. You get that with savages.
