I am finding this newsgroup full of valuable information that you
don't get from the telcos.
Currently I am reading the group in groups.google.com but it seems the
messages are delayed by a good few hours.
What are other using out there to get posts in a more timely manner.
I had a quick search and found news-reader.org as a more up to date
source but would still like to see what others are using.

Try signing up for a free account with http://news.individual.net/ , then
just use your regular news client (Outlook Express, Agent, XNews etc.) to
access the newsgroups.

I use the Usenet server of my current ISP. Is there a problem that
stops you using yours?
For news reader software, Agent and Free Agent are long standing
favourites. See http://www.forteinc.com/
Cheers,
Jason.

Thanks Jason,
I found out my provider hasn't activated my subnet to allow access to
the newsfeed, this should change in the next few days.
I haven't bothered with news in the past.
