I've been thinking of purchasing the 6230 outright:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6304103594&sspagename=STRK
%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The positive is that this is at least $100 cheaper than any shop in
Australia. The negative is that it comes from Hong Kong and as far as
I understand it, warranty is restricted to country of origin.

But the site points to an Australian distributor that would deal with
warranty problems (Good to consider as 6230 has had quite a few bad
reviews pointing to quality control and software bugs). Any thoughs?

That appears to be a general comment on their other photography products.

I wouldnt myself, because you'd likely need to post it back
to HongKong for a fix of that stuff with a Nokia phone.
