Hi group.

Does anybody know if the modem Enfora supports UDHI?

 Thanks all!

Could you give us a few more hints?

Are you talking about the SMS User Data Header Indicator?

What model Enfora modem?  If you're talking SMS, we're thinking
about PDU-mode, right?  In which case, UDHI should be passed
transparently.  Or are you trying for a UDHI = 1 for a
text-mode interaction

If you're using text-mode, you could try

       AT+CSMP=65

(decimal - all text-mode header parameters seem to be given in
decimal).  This sets UDHI to 1 (meaning your text contains a GSM
03.40 header) and MTI to 01 (SMS-submit), with all other first
octet (PDU-type) bits turned off.

And that leaves you to encode and integrate your UDH field into
your UD field "manually" as a 7-bit default alphabet text
string.  Whether or not the Enfora correctly handles this is
another matter (although my suggestion is just an untried
implementation of parts of GSM 07.05 and 03.40).

Hi all!...

My modem is an ENFORA GSM/GPRS SPIDER SA, I want to send AT
Commands to the modem to Configure any parameter. But, the AT command,
i need to send Over the Air with SMS. I've tried with the UDHI field,
but it not respond.

   Anybody knows about this?????....

   Thanks group!!!!

What AT commands are you giving the modem?

Does the modem respond to any of them?

Can you capture and paste the commands and responses from a
session here?

I've sent diferent AT commands, for example: AT+CMOD=1 via SMS (UDHI,
to a specific port). I don't get response.

The idea is to send AT commands via SMS to Activate the PDP
Context, then Send AT Commands via IP-Data to receive the response.

   Thanks John and all!

When I send de SMS with UDHI, the modem recive the SMS as Text (Header
+ Command) in Hexa.

OK, I've got a better idea of what you're trying to do.  Because
it's unusual to send an SMS with UDHI *to* a modem, I'd assumed
you were trying to send *from* the modem to a handset.  I had
guessed we were talking MO SMS instead of MT.

If you want to post one of these SMSs (at least the PID, DCS and
User Data field) here, I'm happy to check it over for you as
far as I'm able.

Within the UDH, what port are you using to address the modem?
