Any one know is a sim only pre paid plan is available?

Doesn't look like it.  Same as in the UK, but if the Brits' experience is
anything to go by, it won't be long before SIMs (split from their original
pre-paid bundles) start appearing on eBay.

If you want insider info, there seem to be some H3GA punter/s lurking on
ausmobile.com

What I want to know is, given the price premium added to 3 Prepaid calls
made outside 'video zones':
- will the higher rate apply to 3's blackspots *inside* a video zone?
- will the higher rate apply to USIMs used in 2G phones?  ;D

(Actually, on reflection, I guess it wouldn't be that appealing unless
you're someone that sends truckloads of SMS... For the spend level, you
could get comparable/better rates using Vodafone directly)

I've rung Three Care several times and visited a couple of three shops to
enquire about this.

Each person told me a different thing, but the general concensus is that you
can't. You would have to buy a new phone, even if you own a 3G handset,
you'd have to buy one of their sim-locked phones.

I put in some kind of customer demand/request, so that hopefully they would
change this policy. Maybe if enough people do that, we might get somewhere.

If they don't, I'll be leaving three for i-sim soon.

Who cares?
Just buy a prepaid phone pack through them. If not, go elsewhere

They are losing so much money that they dont care whether you are a prepaid
cusotmer or not

A fan of Rod perhaps?

Hutchinson/3 maintain they are ontrack ... before their $450M Telstra half
share arrangement. Why be so bitchy about a competitor ... competition
breeds efficient services and the Telstra/ 3 deal is about to prove that!

EVERYONE thats going down the tubes does, fuckwit.

What do you expect them to say ?

We're f.cked, no point in signing up with us ?
thomo - 24 Aug 2004 16:30 GMT
Michael's back to banal/anal responses whenever it's just too hard to work
out! Hutchinson 3 have much to prove they are on-track now, including great
growth and the Telstra $450M 3G sharing/ conversion.

Corse you never ever do anything like that yourself, eh child ?

So when they are growing by twice the number of Telstra, and 200,000 more
cutomers than Optus in a 6 month period and its continuing, you dont' call
that great growth?

Back to "3" though. I dont understand why people are signing up with them.
The deals that Optus and Voda offer are better in a lot of cases than 3.
Majority of customer going to 3 are not getting the cap only around 20% are
in fact.

Only because 3 started from 0 fuckwit.

Lie.

Nope, not when they started from 0, fuckwit.

Oldest statistical howler in the book, fuckwit.

Dont give up the day w.nk, fuckwit.

No surprises there, the whole area is too complicated for most
of the stupid consumers to be able work out for themselves.
So they are mostly driven by the hype.

You'll have to pardon us if we dont believe they tell you the numbers.

And they are losing $200 per 6 months, and Telstra are making $2b profit
within that time.

Of course its great growth, but can it continue, and also profitable

OneTel's GSM network had great growth too.
Where is it now?

Its not sharing, Telstra are owing half their network
thomo - 26 Aug 2004 15:18 GMT
And Hutchinson 3 will own half of Telstra's 3G W-CDMA network ie. each own a
half share of the 3G hardware operation. And now the same joint sharing
arrangement will occur between Optus & Vodafone!

That things changed when Telstra was stupid
enough to toss them that liferaft, fuckwit.

Just another example of terminal stupidity on Telstra's part.

Nothing new about that.
thomo - 26 Aug 2004 02:14 GMT
And we all thought you had the monopoly on terminal stupidity!

Agreed

Wow, we both agree on that
