Looking for a Voda dealer with good prices on Nokia 6230.

I have a connection with Voda, but I have heard that some Voda dealers
do better deals. I do believe I may get a rebate of sorts based on the
value band I'm in.

Prefer Brisbane, but will look at other options.

Any info gratefully accepted.

to anyone and be rid of it

Why don't you like the 6230?

What did you have before and what would you prefer?

I use this phone all day everyday

the battery last about 1.5 days , reasons why ?

the main reason is blue tooth , to some degree the display sucks power

the 4way button is a joke , it piss's me off to no end as you end up going
the wrong way
as I use SMS all the time because my work comes by SMS

the radio has shite reception in a known good area used it all of about
twice

it has been back twice for repair , once for speaker ringing and blutooth
issues
and back again because they didn't fix the Bluetooth issue

I had a 6310i previously which I quite liked , easy to use without the wanky
features
big screen and easy to read/use

Hmm got me thinking I should get hold of one and use it now since I have the
BT car kit

*ph comes with the job , changed job and lost the 6310i

Did you condition the battery on the 6230, ie 14 hour uninterrupted
charge before first use? A LOT of battery liife problems stem from
this not being done correctly.

Thanks for the frank feedback. I currently have a 6310i, but it's
dying slowly. Nokia bluetooth has always sucked, it's standard to
their 'standard' and no one elses it seems.

Maybe I should go SE. I have a T610 for backup with another SIM. I
hear Sony E are bringing another one to market. May wait.

yes and i used the battery till shutoff several times

it is with BT on that the issue occurs , as i have a 2nd one from the
company
when mine went for repair , same probs, leave BT off and it lasts a few days

as long as the car kit works then i dont care

the kit is good as you get in and it works :)

the speaker phone aspect is a good thing as when i am on a job i can
continue working
while talking on the phone , but people look at you strange while you are
talking to yourself ;)

apart from that the rest is w.nk features

Because ur sending heaps of sms, the screen is therefore backlit chewing the
power

> the main reason is blue tooth , to some degree the display sucks power

The bluetooth is rubbish

I have no problem with the 4 way, unless u have fat fingers, are a retard,
or have a case on it, shouldnt be a problem

I drive, so no need for that

Can happen with any model

I have a case on mine and don't have a problem with the 4-way key - the
learning curve isn't much at all. The MP3 player is actually quite good IMO,
the "Rock" equalizer preset gives a bit more bass. Weak reception problems
with the radio can be solved by turning stereo off.

The backlight surprised me by not sucking a lot of juice for its size, I'm
on my phone all the time, got the phone a week ago and only had to charge it
twice after the initial charge. However, I was curious to see if I could get
TV working on it. It didn't work, so I called Optus and apparantly it's a
firmware issue that Nokia should have rectified shortly (the Optus TV site
doesn't correctly recognise the 6230). Apart from that, and no netmonitor,
I'm very happy with the phone.

the case has in fact helped with the problem

turn stereo off ???? defeats the purpose somewhat dont you think ??

obviously not a BT user

I do exactly the same in the car when travelling in areas of weak
reception - and when listening to distant FM stations on the home stereo as
well. It's better IMO to have a mono signal than the annoying stereo cutting
in and out.

> obviously not a BT user

That's right - I'm an IrDA user. Nokia's Bluetooth "support" has never been
one of its strong points ;)

no i am not sending a lot of SMS

the screen chews a reasonable amount of power , the BT a lot as well
having BT off the battery life is improved but still is not as good as the
previous
phone i used model i cannot recall 6600 ? possibly , same size phone, colour
screen also

i couldnt give a sh.t about it as long as it works with the car kit :)

yep well half the world i retarded then , have a look at feedback on it
and it is high on the list of complaints by most users

so do i , i also go onto sites that have nothing so i tried using it in many
locations
but its not very good

yep can do , but had no probs in the past with other phones, and i dont
expect to have to send it back again and again to have same probs fixed

i guess i should know better than to expect service from a service centre ;)
