I also have this same problem. This is the same error we tight-arses
were getting when they took away our free WAP access in August. :)
I've just spoken to them on the phone about this, and it works for the
VirginVibe website if you use the following settings:
Homepage: http://www.virginvibe.com.au/wap
Proxies: Enabled
Primary Proxy: 202.139.083.152:8070 (or 202.139.083.152 as the
address, then 8070 when asked about the port)
Secondary Proxy: 0:8080 (yes this is correct - do not put in a proxy
address when asked - leave that blank, but you must select the port of
8080)
Data Bearer: GPRS
GPRS Access Point: VirginWAP <-- this is case-sensitive
Authentification Type: Normal
Login Type: Automatic
Username/Password - leave fields both blank
Virign say you have to restart the phone after doing all of that, so I
did, and it works, but for the virignvibe website ONLY.
I tried going to Yahoo WAP portal, sportal, bom, & even Nokia.com plus
a few others and each time I get "service is not part of the active
profile"
On the viriginvibe WAP site (the website doesn't say anything) it
tells you that browsing virignvibe is free, but you'll get slugged for
content downloads - most stuff is $1.95 or $3.95 - games are $6.95.
But I love my WAP bookmarks - they come in very handy - so this is the
last straw for me - as soon as I save up a bit of money i'm going to
pay out virgin for the 6230, and move elsewhere! (probably to
vodafone)
Hope that helps,
Jason
