Short time lurker, first time Nokia owner.

Does anyone know if the Nokia 7610's keypad is able to be locked? I have
found a third party Symbian program that can do it however I would really
like to know if there is a manual way of doing it instead. The program
itself seems very cumbersome.

Ok found the manual way to do it. Press left active key, (by default it is
labelled as "Camera") and then *.

Thats universal on all nokias and its in the manual.

I wish Rod!! This damn 6230, you need to hit the 8 way directional key dead
centre and push in, then the * key. It would be much easier to hit the left
active key.

Unless someone knows a way to reconfigure the key presses to make them
cutom??

I meant that the general approach is universal. The first key
used does vary a little with the more unusual key layouts.

I guess that is all dependent on the firmness of any skin or cover you have
on the phone as well as the size of your fingers etc.

Yes it is.

Spose it is but I think I have been suffering "new phone blindness" where
you are trying to soak in as much as you can from the manual whilst trying
to remain calm. I just couldn't find it anywhere and, of course, I stumbled
upon it by pure accident because I was messing around with the keys. I also
found a few more things, like *#0000# revealing its firmware revision.
