I've been having problems trying to access Yahoo WAP services via
Vodafone pre-paid. Typically their wap proxy comes up with the error
message "couldn't reach the indicated web server" It used to be
intermittent but now it is persistent.
Vodafone data say this is a "known problem" and they're working with
Yahoo to resolve it.
I think they're (first level support) are fobbing me off. Any competent
network engineer should be able to solve this sort of problem
(an IP connectivity problem, it appears to me) in 1-2 days.
I also have no confidence they are reporting the problem correctly to
2nd level support.
How can I speak to someone with a clue?
Anyone else having the same problem and/or care to share some insights?
Thanks,
D.

Then ask for the fault number or equivalent.

Lodge a complaint with the TIO. Tell them you have exhasuted all avenues of
complaint within Vodophone, and you are not getting satisfactory responses.

get the data team (first level support) to raise a CPD (customer problem
description), this in turn would then be escalated to an engineer. you
might wait for more than 1/2 Days but at least it will get looked at.
The CPD is your reference number and will be a record of your problem
give it a try before going to the tio

I did, but they still don't let you talk to engineers. How long should I
wait before going to the TIO? It actually worked properly the other day
when I tried it, but I still haven't got a response.
Thanks,
D.
