Just curious if anyone has comments on either of these handsets.
The SX-1 seems to be an outgoing model, but is well featured for my
needs.. the SK-65 is not yet available through retail stores and also
seems OK with the exception of a built in camera which I could live
without...

In fact, Siemens SX1 isn't common phone. It is Series 60 (i.e.
Symbian-based) smartphones, compatible with lots of applications, developed
for Series 60 platform. I.e., same programs should function on Nokia 3650,
7650, Siemens SX1, Panasonic X700 etc.
Symbian architecture give lots of advantages for software developers. For
example, you can install not only JAVA applications to your phone, but also
SIS - genuine Symbian applications, on this phone.
You can check it on http://www.handango.com/ : there are much more
applications for Siemens SX1, than for common non-Symbian Siemens phones.
If you have any questions and/or suggestions, concerning our
program, feel free to post them on our official forum

Thanks for the links - I got a couple of SX-1's at an excellent price
and am learning all the ins and outs - the keyboard layout takes some
getting used to, but is quite good in that it doesn't lend itself to
accidental activation.. still waiting to get some of the accessories I
need, but they are on their way..

SX1 as pointed out is Symbian o/s which has some advantages re availability
of software, etc., but it has a very awkward keyboard interface.
One great advantage of Siemens phones is that they post firmware updates on
the Internet; no more trips to service centres. Nokia could learn from
this.

I bought a couple of SX-1's.. the keyboard layout did look a bit
awkward at first, but with use becomes quite natural...
