I just bought one of these smartphones new privately. Optus sent me the
setup info which I went through step by step. Didn't work so I rang them.
GPRS works with that sim on a different Nokia ph have so its activated on
the networkjust won't work on this new one. Optus tell me it must be
something set wrong on the phone itself and can't help me any further.
Great! Anyone out there have one of these working who may be able to help?
When trying to access any web stuff it times out - cant find page. Email
doesn't work either.
Any help much appreciated.

Optus have two GPRS settings. One is 'Optus Zoo' for WAP and MMS and the
other is Optus Internet for real internet access.
I'm using a T68i, but the Optus settings might help.
Optus Zoo
---------
APN: wap.optus.net.au
User name: MSISDN
Password: all *s in the phone, but Optus should be able to tell you. Try
MSISDN again.
IP address and DNS were not specified
Optus Internet
--------------
APN: internet
User: - no user name
Password: - no password
IP Address: Blank - or query
DNS: Blank - or query. I was given some IPs but they were wrong. The auto
IP address given is 61.88.88.88
MMS
---
Message server address: http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/
Use the Optus Zoo connection.
SMTP - for sending email: mail.optusnet.com.au
I was told that I needed to send an MMS to myself first to activate the
service.
Hope this helps and that there are some config options in the 7070 that
match up with this.

Hi Dave
Thanks for your help.
Actually I sorted it out today with a good help desk guy at Optus.
The problem was - like you said the Optus Zoo stuff and the Internet stuff.
I had it set up for the Zoo but should have been using the other set up.
I was given some DNS settings but no IP settings differnt to yours so
stuffed if I know. Main thing is it works now at last.
Thanks again
