Since Telstra switched me to the new prepaid service, I keep getting
voice mail on my Gullible phone that I can't access. The voice mail
window simply says "Voice Mail" (unlike the text window which lists the
messages) and no button on the phone will play any message, even though
the previous window says that I have voice mail messages.
Can anyone tell me how I can access voice mail.
And - how I can disable it (especially if the messages are costing me
money).
Thanks.

Dialing 101 will access your mailbox, you need to cancel the diverts to get
rid of it, Im not sure of the cdma codes, if you have a hunt around the web
you will find them, the guilver dosnt have menu options, or drop customer
service a call on 1258880
Diversions to voicemail are 5.5c per 30 seconds, calling your mailbox is 25c
per 30 seconds

Thanks for the help. Its all fixed now (and I got the ring increased
from 15 to 30 seconds more like it used to be).
Now my life can return to the peaceful world before voice mail.

1) Either call Telstra on 1258880 or 125111 and request that they turn off
ALL diversions to Voice Mail. You may also wish for them to turn off all
diversions to the "Callback Notification Service" (CNS). (Usually, once they
turn off voice-mail, you end up with CNS - the recorded message that prompts
the caller to enter their number, which will be sent to u as an SMS.
2) Alternatively, if you want it in writing, send an e-mail via
http://telstramobile.custhelp.com
3) You should also advise Telstra that they stuffed up by turning on Voice
Mail without your authority (the transition to the new prepaid system,
including all diversions, was advertised as being "seamless"); therefore you
should demand that Telstra refund whatever balance you lost on receiving and
retrieving voice mail messages, as well as the 25c to call them to have the
problem fixed.
4) As a last resort (if you get no satisfaction), report the matter to
Telstra's Central Complaints Bureau (freecall 1800 011 333) and the TIO
http://www.tio.com.au
