Or the rep lied and it isnt as good a deal as it claims.
Hope you have the details in writing.

f.cking great. Thanks for encouraging Front Door Spam. Oh well,
you'll soon see that you only get what you pay for. Orange customer
service is awful, IMHO, and wait until you need to make a call from a
shopping centre and discover THERE'S NO SERVICE!
APR - 07 May 2005 00:43 GMT
I am with Qrange and find their pricing excellent. If there is no orance
service at a shopping centre then you will roam to Telstra. Even when
roaming to Telstra their pricing is excellent. I have always been satisfied
when calling orange for any reason. I have never had a complaint about their
billing system. Have had three phones for 2+ years.

Orange customer service is fine. Indoor coverage does suck in places
but it's well worth it when you consider the call costs.
Alan D. - 07 May 2005 08:00 GMT
Had other Orange phones for years now, and have no problems in our area.
Know of others on the fringe of the Orange coverage and they have had
problems. It seems to be at the point of roaming over to Telstra is the
issue.

Only an idiot expects indoor service in a huge concrete building from Orange
If you dont understand the difference b/w CDMA and GSM, and the size of the
network, youre an idiot

That's rather harsh, isn't it? Unless the guy's a technician who works
on mobile phone equipment, he's not expected to know the difference
between the two services. And he can't be called an "idiot" because of
this.
Sometimes I reckon people here take the mobile phone thing just a tad
too seriously....

What's the name of the rate plan? It should be on your documents.
Alan D. - 07 May 2005 07:58 GMT
Talk and text. No number after the name like other plans on the web site as
it has no minimum spend. He said that this plan isn't listed on the web as
it is only for door sales.

It does sound to good to be true.
Anyway do you know what company here is from. I would really like that
deal. It should say somewhere on the form. It could be something like
orangedirect or something totaly diferent like AMI.
Have you already gotten the phone?
Thanks,
Roma.

As everyone suspected, this was a dud deal.
The Rep was from SalesForce and made up his own deal. He had no brochures,
did not put his details on the contract, and left no contact details.
I spoke orange and they said the contract had not been entered into their
system, so no phones have arrived. They said they will cancel if it does get
entered. They would not give me contact details for Salesforce so I looked
them up and rang them myself. Got through to the team leader, and he knew
who covered this area, and was most concerned to hear my story. Surprise,
surprise, the guy has gone back to India.
Other issues to watch. The customer gets the last copy of a 4 part contract
form, and is unreadable. I scanned the top copy before the guy took off.
Make sure the reps fill out all fields on the form, and check for correct
dates.

I hope that you have a brochure confirming the rates. Hold on to that
as you may need it :-)

See

for the "Orange JustTalk&Text" suite of plans.
Doesn't have the plan you speak of listed.
Vinnie - 09 May 2005 12:32 GMT
Yep,
Those dodgy f.ckers work for Salesforce.
Some salesforce reps will tell you that you can cancel the plan at any time
and pay no disconnection fee or exit fees. Load of crap!
Where do you take your mobile to when it fails? Pretty sure the rep will be
well and truly gone by then.
You can get the same deal from any orange dealer and possible get a triple
pack thrown in for free, plus you have the backend support when things go
wrong (sometimes!)

I have asked Orange specifically about scenario you described above..
I was told that there is no Orange "talk & text" plan with a zero
minimum monthly spend. Also, there is also no way of getting a Nokia
6225 for free (other than some special arrangement with Orange).
If I were you I'd be calling Orange customer care and asking for
confirmation of the deal offered to you by the door-to-door
salesperson. I'd be keeping notes of who you spoke with and when.
Most states (if not all) have some sort of cooling off period for
door-to-door sales.

In comparison to Telstras Talk and Text?
