Hey guys,

I'm on the road overseas and I've just tried out a new Samsung phone that's
equipped with a 3 gig hard drive  The drive is primarily for downloading and
playing music.

The owner told me that Samsung is coming out with a 10 gig drive phone soon.

He pays about $10/month to download as many tracks as he likes from the
phone operator's library, which is apparently huge.  Unlike iTunes, he can
download from the comfort of his pocket anywhere that he has mobile
coverage.

Have any phones with hard drives hit the Australian market yet?

I heard that Sony Ericsson is about to release a Walkman phone that has an
FM radio and a hard disk but it might not be offered to the Australian
market for quite a while.

Nokia N-Series due later this year. The N91 has a 4gig hardrive.

I only use my Nokia 6230 for music. Its small and I only have to carry
one device on me. I just transfer songs using my card reader or the DKU
cable.

Does he get to download whatever music he chooses? And doesn't incur
data or other costs on top of this $10/month?

Me, I prefer the free service - it's called FM radio....
